You will receive a payment if your article appears in our data. We use different data for different sources of licence fees.
For licence fees from schools and universities, we use information from surveys of a sample of licensees.
For most other sources of licence fees, we use information from media monitoring companies about articles that they have provided to their clients. For example, we allocate licence fees from governments to newspaper articles supplied by media monitoring companies to governments.
If you are a freelance journalist, you are not entitled to payment if you have assigned your copyright to a publisher.
If you are a staff journalist, you may be entitled to payment for photocopying of printed newspapers, provided you have not given away this entitlement in your employment contract or industry agreement.
