The RightsPortal is the Copyright Agency's online licensing platform. It currently provides pay-per-use licences which grant rights to one-off uses of copyright content, mostly newspaper, magazine and journal content.
The Copyright Agency represents its members which includes publishers, authors, journalists and other creators. Through RightsPortal, the Copyright Agency provides licences for organisations and individuals to use copyright content that its members have created.
The licence fees collected are distributed to Copyright Agency members (to support the creation of new material) and are used to support the creative community through the Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund.
RightsPortal does not provide access to content or copies of articles. To obtain access to or a copy of an article, you will need to contact the publisher directly. If you already have the content you can use it under the terms and conditions of the pay-per-use licence you have purchased. For more details see the section on Does Copyright Agency provide content?
